¡Hola amigos!

Well today was yet another adventurous day. We all started our classes at 9:30 and finished around 4:30. I really enjoyed my intensive Spanish course and found it to be very beneficial as well as fun. I was a bit weary about having a six-hour class, however I thought it went by fast. The first part of the class is taught by a different teacher than the second, and both teachers are very nice with a unique teaching style. I found that the size of the class as well as the teaching methods made it more comfortable to talk in Spanish while in class. I am really looking forward to this and know it will help me improve my Spanish a great amount.

After classes we hopped on the metro and made our way to the Gothic Quarter for a tour. Because we weren't in the proper attire, we weren't allowed to enter the Cathedral but still were able to take a tour and learn some very interesting history about Spain. Our guide took us on a one hour tour around the Cathedral and told us some of the stories behind the Kings of Spain, as well as how the languages of Spanish and Catalan came about in the region of Barcelona. I found the history to be very interesting and also a bit heavy because there is so much that I didn't know before coming here. In one area, we saw visible dents in the walls where a bomb had gone off and where many people were killed. We also learned some things about a few different Saints.

When the tour was finished, Emily and I went on a walk of our own, which turned into an adventure all on its on. We were turned around after the tour and got lost for a bit. Thankfully, we got some ice cream and then finally made our way to a metro. Tomorrow we have a day trip to Tarragona. It should be very fun and just as adventurous as the rest of the days have been. For this weekend...la playa! I'm having a great time in Barcelona and plan to continue. Buenos Noches.
